I heard about Mitch Hedberg

I just heard that Mitch Hedberg passed away last night. I hope it's just a rumor.

Mitch is the second comic I ever saw live. I had seen him on Letterman once before, and after that I was a fan. In the full bio on my website I talk about a show in Boston that I'll never forget. That was a Mitch Hedberg show. We got to the club just before show time, and it was completely sold out. Huge club. That's typical for a Mitch Hedberg show. But, we had bought our tickets early, and they seated us just a couple seats back from the stage. I just remember watching people laugh so hard for so long and being in amazement. I remember looking at the guy seated across from me just doubled over in laughter all night long.

I remember being amazed by his creative ability to create the funniest visual images and situations. I had never done any stand-up before, and I will say, that single show made me a stand-up fan for life. I hope this is a rumor because if it's not, we've really lost one of the great comic minds.

Next Great Comic...Help, Please!!!

Hi all, update to my blog, you ask? What is happening in the life of Ryan Hamilton?

Well soldiers, recently, I was named a top-five, national finalist in a competition called 'Next Great Comic' sponsored by Sierra Mist. I was picked out of hundreds of comics from across the country. The overall winner is selected by online voting based on audio clips on the site

This competition is a big deal to me, and I could use your help. Vote as much as you can. Vote everyday. Vote early. Vote often.

Voting takes place at http://www.nextgreatcomic.com

You may need to use this link if you can't open the site directly...
http://www.nextgreatcomic.com/home.php

Voting ends Friday, April 1.

If I win, in addition to being your new best friend, I will be a part of the next Sierra Mist ad campaign, be eligible for up to 23 weeks of paid comedy club work, and have access to audition for professional comedy industry talent scouts! This is a huge opportunity for whoever wins!

Please feel free to check out my website to learn more about me and my comedy at www.ryanham.com.

Obviously, the key to winning this competition is to get many, many people to vote everyday, but just as important is getting them to forward information on to other people who will vote a lot everyday and then forward to even more people.

If you enjoy clean, fresh stand-up comedy, that's what I always try to do.

I truly appreciate your help! Thanks!
Ryan
